Meet the Good Hacker today!

Greg Gopman is the Co-Founder and CEO of AngelHack. In September of 2011, he moved to Silicon Valley with the dream of creating the next big technology startup. Today, AngelHack unites developers, designers, and entrepreneurs through the world’s largest hackathon competition, where they can learn new tools, test ideas, network, and even win prizes and funding for their products. Greg is also the Co-Founder of, a platform for managing and sharing hackathon events online. Greg loves to travel, connect people, and play in the great outdoors.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

In late 2011, frustrated with years of failed efforts integrated technology into my startups, I moved to Silicon Valley on a mission to find great developers. And when I got here, I learned of these magical places called hackathons where technical members of the community would come together to learn new things, meet new people, and build new ideas. It was too good to be true!

A newcomer on the scene, I wanted to meet everyone I could and at the same time, make myself known as a friend of the developer community. I started the AngelHack hackathon series at that time and brought in Angel Investors to judge, which also seemed important to me at the time. As time went on, my curiosity for the Silicon Valley startup community turned into a curiosity for the global startup community, and how we could bring them all together over hackathons. In 2013, the HACKcelerator was born to help top hackstars connect with mentors and win experiences in Silicon Valley. And even more recently, we launched the AppHACK mobile hackathon series in our continued effort to build stronger communities worldwide. We’ve also begun offering our services to clients throughout the startup industry to help with developer marketing and startup relations… Who knew it would all add up to this?

It’s been a wild ride. And it’s only going to get crazier. Here’s to the good times.
